Retrofitting

Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS) or stucco is a great way to bring life back into older homes or buildings. With a variety of different architectural styles and finishes, EIFS can freshen up your home and make it look great again. Being such a light weight system, compared to other exterior finishes, it can easily be accomodated by existing structures or substrates with little to no reinforcing.

Existing dated masonry can sometimes show symptoms of leakage or water penetration. In these instances, a Water Resistive Barrier (WRB) applied behind the EIFS can be a good second line of defence in preventing further deterioation. A thick insulating EPS Foam can wrap the existing structure and seal up any areas where heat can escape, providing you with, not only fantastic energy efficieny, but also prevention of further deterioation as the EPS Foam maintains a stable temperature throughout the structure to prevent cracks from forming due to temperature swings. A fiber glass reinforced base coat would be applied directly over the EPS Foam to give you the first line of defence against moisture penetration, followed by a textured finish coat in the colour of your choice. A wide variety of mouldings are available in window trims, sills, cornices, etc. to give your property the finesse it needs.
